The name of the article was "10 Things You Did not Know About Morocco" and the article itself I liked so much that we decided we need to see myself how can this Kingdom. In my short stay I unfortunately had the chance to experience all 10 points Read the article mentioned but they think they can add more.
"What about Morocco? Perhaps you know that it is an Arab country in North Africa, with a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. Perhaps you are known even hearsay cities Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier. Images of their colorful markets full of brightly colored materials or photos desert and camels site you certainly have passed before my eyes. Probably knew Moroccans speak Arabic and French and Muslim. filene s But he did not know about Morocco? "This was the preamble as I wrote in the article above and I decided to post it just to give a sequel.
I went to Morocco by sea ferry from Algeciras in Spain. A journey of about an hour until Ceuta. City though on African continent belongs to Spain. Here we were price of Ahmed, Moroccan guide and in 30 minutes we arrived at the border with Morocco. First impressions on to the customs was that go back in time. Thousands restless, endless lines of cars in the terminal. I imagine that we spend hours. Of course ... I was wrong. Ahmed us repeatedly that in the custom photography is strictly prohibited. We need not explain why ... Fortunately, everything was so organized that in 15 minutes I was in Morocco. The trip, including the ferry cost 70 euro. Romanian citizens need a passport valid for at least 6 months to get into Morocco. No need for concern.
First stop was Tetuan, the second filene s largest port in the country, founded in the third century filene s the Berbers and which means "eye". The explanation is that the city had exposure to the Mediterranean, hence the horizontal beam oavnd Spain and Gibraltar. The attraction of the city is the old town Mdina or. Most Arab towns have Mdina which nowadays are markets where you can find the fruits and vegetables to clothes and crafts. An indescribable filene s crowd, narrow filene s streets and crooked, stalls with anything you could imagine. Everywhere is negotiable and I was trained in this regard. Arabs consider jugnire the buyer if they offer a price, the seller agrees but one not buy. Another nice information was that if the seller is smiling after a negotiation means negotiating was very good for him. Here I entered filene s a house where merchants sells carpets of all colors and sizes. You're invited to a tea (they do not drink alcohol) and during the bedding you enjoy liquor sellers dozen feet of carpet. You are invited to show during a presentation that you like without asking its price, though wondering, the answer you get is "very good price". Finally carpets remain just that you liked. Start madness negotiation and often comes to you asking price just to leave. Another unwritten rule is that the offering 20% of the asking price and get up to leave. If you follow and seller negotiating with you still, you will likely get the product at an amount close to the 20% target. However, if you do not buy, do not upset anyone. At least visible
We were invited for lunch in a traditional restaurant where we had traditional food: vegetables, filene s cous cous and chicken, plus a soup undefined texture and taste. Drinks were not included and it was fun to see that begin with the same product at different prices depending on the country of origin of tourists. The road to Tetuan Tanger (about 60 km) is one spectacular, sprinkled filene s with "palace" that contrasts with homes ready to break down.
I was pleasantly surprised filene s by the quality and cleanliness of the highway on the entire route. I was curious to know more about the country, people and took advantage of the fact that Ahmed was sitting in the bus seat across from me. Thus, we found that the garment worn by Moroccan djellaba and is called a hooded robe is taken over regular clothes. It is woven in different colors and different materials depending on the price from tens of dollars to several thousand. filene s Babouche traditional shoes are called, are made of leather of different colors, with different models for both men and women. Their cost is about $ 15.
Tanger, the old harbor where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic has been considered a city with status "international" as the locals say, it became a destination for diploma
