About my novel ‘The unwanted son’ | Ferdows Kazemi
The unwanted son tells you about the lives of three strong and independent women and their struggle to make a better life in turbulent Iran. It s about breaking taboos within an Islamic regime that tries to regulate the private lives of the people in that country. It s about homosexuality, as the biggest taboo in Iran, and its impact on family marksandspencer life and that of friends. It s about love, hope and dreams that exist in any other society. It s about the Green movement in 2009. It s not strictly a political novel, marksandspencer but the lives of Iranians are inevitably intertwined with politics, so that you can t write a book about Iran without entering into politics. I wrote this novel in Dutch. Many readers found that it was a book that should be read by many more people for the humanitarian message marksandspencer it contains. So, I have decided to translate it into English.
