We drove on and after about 2 km Glenn said he did not feel well at all. The day has become more di

Change of seasons, brass plum a very low immunity and children with wet noses come home is not at all the perfect preparation for a race like the 100 miler Amarider not. Hildegarde stood strong brass plum through everything, but I am only a "softie". If there is a virus in the air, I will get him. This was also the case of 10 days for the 100 miler off. I was bedridden, but definitely not healthy. Monday (to JJ's birthday - May 19, 2014) I started a course of antibiotics. I could every day building up to the 100 miler feel I get better. JJ has a Spiderman party held as you can see in the attached picture. He was right, and his friend HB is left. Best day of his life so far! We would participate as Team Nexus. This time we were four riders - I, Hildegarde, Glenn Norrie and Charl (Tier) brass plum du Plessis. The rules of the 100 miler differ a bit from the other races than driving in a team. At the 100 miler you as a team, but you do not have to travel together. They just take the time to the team as the last person of the time and 4 for 4 to finish to qualify as a team. However, we have participated in the mixed teams and we had the day before the start to find out that there is only one other mixed team enrolled, so there will not be a mixed category. We still decided as a team to drive and not driving each at his own pace, but all the time as "Team Nexus" stay together. Jaco Geldenhuys, Hildegarde Geldenhuys, Glenn Norrie and Charl (Tier) du Plessis
The race starts at Swartland Winery and ends, just like the name says, to 100 miles (163 km) back at Swartland Winery. There is also a 50 miler that starts at Delico Butchery in Riebeek Kasteel and the last 80 miles of the 100 miler trail, and at Swartland Winery ends. Malmesbury was excellent represented in both races, and there were about 30 of us who took part! Truly excellent for one town. We've also had a potential winner in the race for the 100 miler in our midst - Johann Rabie was also on the starting line. The route was definitely not flat and we had outside the extreme weather conditions to climb 2400 meters over 163 km!
Our team has started about in the middle of the pack and my first I could not have worse predicted. I went by the people before me try and pass through a roll of barbed wire drove just lay along the way. This in my "cluster" wound up on the side spokes. I and two Gracious Samaritans probably 5 minutes struggling to solve it, fortunately there was no damage and I could drive on. My team as 500 m won for me. At the same time, the thunder and lightning started to hit and we just nice early natgereën. This was the beginning of a long and difficult day!
We regrouped as a team and immediately began a few short climbs. For our riders brass plum who do not "race" does not, you should be very hard to guard against not being pulled by the people who started fast. This is an Ultra Ultra marathon and you have to look after all the energy as gold, because you will definitely need later. Glenn was also the week slightly uncomfortable with his heart beating his reaction when he rode tempo and it was the same story on the day of the race. However, he stayed with us and try to determine what is going on. The first was about 50 kilometers eintelik very pleasant when we turn in an Eastern direction. The wind was beginning brass plum to turn to the Northwest to bring in huge cold front, we have the wind to start from scratch. 61 km we reached the first "tagpunt". All were unharmed and simply wanted at the halfway mark comes. However, it was much easier said than done. The wind was now the North West and we had straight at him drive to Delico. This part of the trail is actually a easy part. Little humps and nice flat. We could hardly maintain 20 km / h. We arrived after 4 hours at Delico and Riaan van Zyl and we Dr. Loch Nel, also 100 miler drove the assistance vehicle drove from there. We could get our own bottles and warm clothes get - the cold front was near.
We drove on and after about 2 km Glenn said he did not feel well at all. The day has become more difficult and we would certainly not his health at risk. He decided to go back to the vehicle when. This meant that we only had three who have to fight against the wind, and that we do as a team does not qualify. Afterwards we learned that Delico the finish of many riders's day. We had about another 25 miles to the wind up before have had a slight respite where the wind was blowing from the side. It wa
