0-100.ro First Hybrid Volvo outlet coupled to debut at Geneva
Volvo's first hybrid car ready for production, called the V60 Plug-In Hybrid, which can travel up to 50 km electric only, will be presented in March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Swedish automaker announced. The car is based on the V60 wagon.
The car is a prototype, but Volvo says it is ready to go into production. The car is part of the advanced hybrids, the battery can be charged and a conventional socket (hence the callsign Plug-In), the gigastore not only during the internal combustion engine or braking.
The propulsion system consists of a 2.4-liter turbo diesel (D5), 215 horsepower (hp), which operates the front wheels, and a 70 hp electric engine mounted in the rear, acting rear wheels ( ERAD - Electric Rear Axle Drive). The assembly is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
